Dal Richards & His Orchestra – Songs & Stories Saturday, September 18, 2010 For more than seven decades, Dal Richards & His Orchestra have delighted Canadians with memorable dance music. A Vancouver legend, Dal continues to swing - leading his orchestra of talented musicians in a blend of unique sounds that capture the best of the big band era, along with jazz, rock and pop standards from the 1930s to today. Dal recently completed production of a new big band CD, a co-production with CBC Radio: Dal Richards and Friends - One More Time.
Delhi 2 Dublin Saturday, October 9, 2010 The five members of Vancouver-based Delhi 2 Dublin: Tarun Nayar, Sanjay Seran, Kytami, Andrew Kim and Ravi Binning, come from different backgrounds and different musical influences. Together they bring a heady and energetic mash-up of Bhangra, Celtic, Dub Reggae and Electronica. “Not being able to fit into any specific genre allows the band to create whatever we like and not be judged for it, our audience expects nothing less.”
Memeza Africa Saturday, January 29, 2011 Led by South African singer-songwriter Jimmy Mulovhedzi, and Canadian guitarist/ singer-songwriter, Holly Wright, this fourteen piece spirited ensemble delivers a powerhouse performance that seamlessly moves from traditional African songs to fully captivating and passionate compositions. The spectacular vocal harmonies and jaw-dropping dance performances are supported by traditional djembe drums and acoustic guitar in an unparalleled blend of styles and sound.
