Doug Nealy
Photography, Poetry
Multidisciplinary
At 79, Doug is a lifelong photographer whose passion began more than seven decades ago when his mother handed him a simple Brownie camera at the age of eight. What started as childhood curiosity quickly grew into a life’s pursuit, naturally blending his love of nature and exploring the outdoors with the art of photography.
Influenced by the sweeping landscapes of the Group of Seven and the powerful visual storytelling of Indigenous artists, Doug’s work reflects a deep reverence for the natural world. He delights in every aspect of nature—right down to the smallest insects—and lives by a gentle philosophy of respect for all living things.
Doug doesn’t squash bugs; he observes them, photographs them, and lets them be.
