Jessica is a jewelry maker and artist based in Chilliwack, BC, Canada. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a Master's in Educational Leadership and teaches high school art. As a wife and mother, she enjoys traveling and feels a deep need to create in order to feel complete. Her work often explores themes such as the feminine body, dinosaurs, and the mystical.
Jessica primarily crafts jewelry from copper and gemstones, using techniques like electroforming and smithing. She also works with a variety of materials, including watercolors and fibers. Her creations can be found on Instagram at instagram.com/dugandmarydesigns.
Much of her focus revolves around the concept of beauty, particularly in relation to the female form and her jewelry. She engages in in-depth explorations of societal perceptions of beauty and has experienced her own evolving understanding of it over the years. This personal growth has inspired her to continually capture the essence of the female form in her work. In addition to her jewelry, Jessica enjoys painting her pieces and plants, celebrating both physical beauty and the art of creation.
