Multidisciplinary

Rose Drummond (she/they) is a contemporary watercolor and ink artist whose work emerges from a deeply personal practice of art as both a guide and a guardian. Through her lens as a regenerative farmer and lifelong student of the Living Land, she creates a new modality of iconography rooted in Earth-based practices. Her connection with nature is evident in her anthropomorphic representations of the Earth, often embodied through the femme form.

Her work explores the cyclical principles of Birth, Death, and Rebirth, capturing moments of transition, grief, and the natural world. Each piece serves as a touchstone for feeling, enshrining these experiences in physical form.

Rose’s signature technique combines meticulous ink crosshatching with multiple layers of watercolor, a time-intensive process that infuses each piece with intention and depth.

Born on a farm in Swinomish and Skagit territories near Mount Vernon, WA, Rose now resides in Stó:lō territory. Her work has been exhibited at transformational festivals along the West Coast and internationally.

Beyond painting, Rose is deeply engaged with the land, working in organic farming, sustainability, and food equity initiatives. Passionate about food security and living in harmony with the earth, she dedicates herself to regenerative practices.

Rose is queer, neurodivergent, and experiences chronic illness. Committed to disability justice, she continuously seeks to educate herself and contribute to liberation movements and equity initiatives.
