Visual Artist (ceramics, photography, painting, illustration, sculpture, etc.)

Painting

Born and raised in Maple Ridge, B.C., Selena now resides on his farm in Stave Falls, at the north end of Mission, where she maintains both her studio and garden. With a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science and Ecology from the University of British Columbia, she is a Registered Professional Biologist and Professional Agrologist, deeply passionate about the outdoors and nature.

A self-taught artist, she works primarily in watercolor and wood burning, drawing inspiration from the landscapes that surround her. Her watercolor paintings are often influenced by the hiking trails and mountain vistas of the Fraser Valley, while her wood-burned pieces typically depict mountain and river scenes, as well as fish and birds. Through her art, she captures the beauty of the natural world, allowing viewers to connect with familiar landscapes and reflect on their own experiences in the outdoors.

Spending as much time as possible exploring the Fraser Valley mountains—from Mission to the Coquihalla—Selena finds endless inspiration in nature. Her work not only reflects his deep appreciation for the environment but also invites others to see the beauty in the places they know and love.
