A festive shopping tradition that’s also the Chilliwack Community Arts Council’s largest fundraiser is coming up in November.

The 48th annual Chilliwack Christmas Craft Market returns to Chilliwack Heritage Park from Nov. 17 to Nov. 19.

This holiday fundraiser organized by the arts council plays a vital role in supporting local artists and in the creation of local murals that adorn our town.

General admission is $7, and admission is free for children under the age of 10.

“What makes this fee even more special is that every dollar from your ticket purchase goes directly back to our beloved Chilliwack arts community, further nurturing and sustaining our local talent,” said Siobhan D’Souza, executive director with the Chilliwack Community Arts Council.

There will be more than 300 vendors from all across B.C. at the event, and all of their items will be handmade.

The craft market offers a treasure trove of unique Christmas gifts including pottery, jewelry, home décor, sewing and weaving creations, clothing, bath and body products, craft spirits, food and other handmade goods.

As people wander through the market, they will be surrounded by the sounds of live holiday entertainment, musicians, and roaming performers.

The Chilliwack Christmas Craft Market serves as the Chilliwack Community Arts Council’s largest yearly fundraising event, with funds raised supporting community events and arts initiatives as well as three annual art scholarships furthering the career development of local students.

The 48th annual Chilliwack Christmas Craft Market is at Chilliwack Heritage Park from Nov. 17 to Nov. 19. Hours are noon to 8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 17; 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 18; and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 19.
